So this is the Earfun UBOOM X, is a large portable Bluetooth speaker thats easy enough to take on the go with you but it also packs a very big punch. The Earfun UBOOM X also has extra features like a built in light feature and it also has a USB C port so that you can charge your own devices… but best of all, the Earfun UBOOM X is surprisingly affordable for its size and price.

Now first off I do want to thank Earfun for sponsoring this video. Now the Earfun UBOOM X has a retail price of $190 which is very affordable for a speaker of this size and performance. And it can also be found on sale from time to time for around $160, a great value if you ask me. If you want to pick this speaker up it’ll be linked down below, and again, thank you to Earfun for sponsoring this video.

So first theres the design of this speaker, the UBOOM X is large and loud but its still easy enough to take on the go with you. Thanks to the included shoulder strap you can easily throw this speaker around your shoulder and it only weighs in at 9 pounds. This speaker is also rocking an IP67 rating so its both dust and water proof making it a great option to take to the beach, lake, or just take it camping cause it is fairly durable.

But also, this speaker does have a built in light feature, and from Earfun’s app you can go in and change the color of this light feature, and you can switch between two modes. And this light feature is vibrant, but it does look best while indoors or at night.

Now when it comes to battery life, this speaker has an advertised battery life of 30 hours, which is impressive for a speaker of this size and price. And to charge this speaker, it charges via a USB C port, so you can charge it up with your phone. And if you use your phone’s 30 watt faster changer, than you can fully charge this speaker up in 4 hours.

But something that I really like about this speaker is that it also has a USB C out port so that you can charge your own devices, and I really like this feature cause if your out at the beach and your phone’s battery is low, you can charge it with this speaker. And this is a feature that still isn’t super common.

And while we’re on the topic of ports, the UBOOM X also has an audio jack so you can still use it with a wired connection. And audio jacks on speakers are now starting to become exclusive to larger speakers, cause mid sized speakers and small speakers can now only be used wirelessly.

Now regarding wireless connectivity, this speaker can be connected to two devices at the same time so that you can fired can both be DJ, latency is not an issue for this speaker so you can use it to watch videos with on your phone.

But with all of that out of the way, lets talk about sound. Now the UBOOM X has dual frontward firing woofers, dual frontward firing tweeters and dual passive radiators that shoot out the sides. And this speaker is rated at 80 watts. And through Earfun’s app you can also go in and choose from a few different premade EQ’s or you can make your own. But now we’re going to jump into the soundtest. This speaker is playing at 75% volume and we’re going to be using the stock default EQ and Bass Boost level 3.

Sound test

So the Earfun UBOOM X is a very balanced sounding speaker that doesn’t over emphasis anything, which is actually pretty nice. The vocals as well pronounced, the instrumentals are well defined and the bass come in when it has to. And thanks to the woofer and tweeter set up on this speaker, the UBOOM X has good instrument seperation and openess. And when it comes to max volume performance, this speaker gets very loud for its price. The UBOOM X is going to have no problem filling a large room with music and it going to be good for around a 12 person party.

But now lets talk about pairing this speaker with other speakers. First off all you have to do is press one button on each speaker and they’ll connect to one another. Now if you have 2 of the same speakers then you can pair them up and get them to play in left and right stereo mode so youre going to have one speaker for your left channel and another speaker for your right channel so your music is going to sound more open and its going to get louder. Or you can pair up to 50 speakers together and get them to play in sync.

But with all of that being said, the Earfun UBOOM X is a very affordable speaker that offers a very big bang for your buck. It gets very loud for its price, but it also has a very balanced sound signature to it. It also has good instrument seperation and good openess. But the UBOOM X also has other great features like its portability and durability, I also like that it has a USB C port so that you can charge your own devices and it also has a built in light feature. And if you get two or more UBOOM X’s you can easily pair them up for even bigger parties.
