So this is the Tribit StormBox Flow, its a compact and super durable bluetooth speaker thats great for at home use, and you can also take it on the go with you, and thanks to it monster 30 hour battery life, it can keep up with you without any problems. The Tribit StormBox Flow also has 25 watts of power, so its impressively loud for it size and thanks to XBass, it also has an impressive amount of bass, but nonetheless, lets see what the Tribit Stormbox Flow is all about.
Now first I do want to thank Tribit for sponsoring this video, now the Tribit StormBox flow has a retail price of $79.99, making it a solid option if you’re looking something that isn’t going to break the bank. Now if you want to pick this speaker up it’ll be linked down below, or you can always press on the YouTube shopping button.

Now first lets talk about the design of this speaker. Now the StormBox Flow has a candy bar design to it. It can stand up right so you can direct all of the music towards you, you can also lay it down flat if you want omnidirectional sound… and it also has a built in loop, so you can attach it to something like your back pack, if you want. Now this speaker is great for at home use, but its also really good to take it on the go with you cause of its compact size and its very durable body. Now the front has a very scratch resistant faceplate and the rest of the body is covered in a very stiff rubber. So constant bumps and scrapes aren’t going to be an issue for this speaker, and thanks to its IP67 rating, the StormBox flow is water proof so if you drop it in a pool or lake, its going to be perfectly fine.
Now when it comes to battery life, the StormBox flow has an advertised battery life of 30 hours, which is very impressive. And this advertised battery life of 30 hours is with this speaker playing at 60% volume, which is a decent listening volume, but thats with its XBass turned off. But if you were to use this speaker with its XBass turned on, its going to have an advertised battery life of 24 hours which is still very impressive and its above average for a speaker of this size and price.
And in order to charge this speaker, it charges via a USB C port as it should. But the really neat thing about this USB C port is that you can also use it to charge your own devices. So if your phone is running low on battery, you can connect it to the Stormbox Flow and the Stormbox will charge your phone. And as of right late 2023, speakers that have a USB C port that allows you to charge your own devices is very rare and I really like this feature.
Just keep in mind that the StormBox Flow will charge your phone while the speaker itself is turned on and if its battery life is above 50%… but if the Stormbox Flow has a battery life below 50%, you have to turn it off in order to charge your own device. Nonetheless, this is a very useful speaker if you’re looking for something to take on the go with you, and this is still a very rare feature.
Just keep in mind that the USB C port on the Stormbox Flow is used for charging the speaker and your own devices, but you cant use it as a wired connection, and the StormBox Flow doesn’t have an audio jack, you can only use this speaker with a bluetooth connection. So just keep that in mind depending on your setup.
But with all of that out of the way, lets talk about sound. Regarding speaker set up, the StormBox flow has a single frontward firing transducer and it has dual passive radiators that shoot out the front and out the back of this speaker. And this is a 25 watt speaker, so its going to get decently loud for both indoor use and outdoor use. Now the Stormbox Flow also has an Xbass feature, which is going to increase the bass on this speaker and make it more thunderous. Now you can either activate Xbass by pressing the EQ button up top… or you can always active Xbass through the app and you can also make your own EQ settings. But now we’re going to jump into the sound test. We’re going to be using the StormBox Flow at 75% volume and we’re going to use it with its Xbass turned on and Off.
Sound test
So like you may have just heard, with the XBass turned on, this speaker has more bass and it also gets a little louder. Where as with XBass turned off, this speaker is going to sound flatter, but that is going to help extend the battery of this speaker. But like I mentioned earlier, you can also go into this speakers app and you can either choose from a few premade EQ’s or you can make your own. But when it comes to the overall performance of this speaker, the StormBox flow gets decently loud for its size cause it a 25 watt speaker. So its going to have no problem filling a room with music and it gets decently loud for outdoor use. It also has decent instrument separation and distortion is not a problem even at max volume.
But finally lets talk about pairing this speaker with other speakers. Now with the Stormbox Flow, if you have another Stormbox Flow, you can pair them up to one another and get them to play in left and right stereo mode. So your music is going to get louder but your music is also going to sound more open cause you have one speaker for your left channel and the other speaker for your right channel.
But with all of that being said, the Tribit StormBox Flow is a great speaker to consider if you’re looking for something thats very portable and very durable. But the standout characteristic of this speaker is its super impressive 30 hour battery life which is above average for a speaker of this size… and I also really like that you can use its USB C port to charge your own devices… again, making this speaker a great option for something to constantly take it on the go with you cause you can always use it as a battery bank for your phone. But also, the StormBox Flow is a 25 watt speaker so its going to have no problem filling a room with music and its decently loud for outdoor use, and if you want a lot of bass than you can always use its XBass feature.
