So this is the Soundcore Select 4 Go speaker… its a 5 watt speaker that gets impressively loud for its size, it actually sounds really good at max volume and it has a battery life of up to 20 hours. If you’re looking for something small and portable to take on the go with you, or if you’re looking for something to use while in the shower, the Soundcore Select 4 Go is a solid pick up.

Regarding pricing, this speaker retails for $25 which I feel is shocking compared to its direct competitors. So if you want to pick this speaker up it’ll be linked down below or you can press on the YouTube shopping button.

Now when it comes to the design of this speaker, the Select 4 go is a relatively small puck, it has a mostly fabric wrapped body so its going to be able to stand up to constant abuse from bumps and scraps and it also feels fairly premium. The Select 4 Go also has a built in loop so you can easily attach this speaker to things like lets say your back pack, which is nice. Just keep in mind that this loop does not stretch out all that much, so you’ll might have to use your own carabeaer or you’ll have to get creative. But also if you want, there is an option lanyard that you can attach to this speaker so you can either carry it around your neck or throw it over your shoulder. But regardless, the Select 4 Go is rocking an IP67 rating so its dust and water proof so you dont have to worry about this speaker getting wet.

Now when it comes to tech specs, the Select 4 Go has an advertised battery life of 20 hours while its playing at 50% volume. And 50% volume on this speaker is decent. And at max volume this speaker it good for about 5 hours a playback time, And max volume on this speaker is impressive for its size and clarity is still really good at max volume.

And when it comes to charging, this speaker charges via a USB C port as it should… and the USB C port on this speaker is covered and protected, so you dont have to worry about having to wait for your speaker to dry out before you can charge it.

And when it comes to bluetooth connectivity, this speaker is using Bluetooth 5.3 so it can be connected to 2 devices at the same time so you and a friend can both be DJ, and latency is not an issue, so you can use this speaker to watch videos with on your phone.

But with all of that out of the way, lets talk about sound. Now the Soundcore Select 4 Go has a standard frontward firing driver and passive radiator speaker set up and this is a 5 watt speakers. Now you can also go into this speaker’s app and you can either choose from a few premade EQ’s or you can make your own. But now we’re going to go ahead and jump into the soundtest, the Soundcore Select 4 Go is playing at Max volume with its stock eq and we’re going to be comparing it to the JBL Go 4 with it playing at max volume and with its stock EQ as well.

Sound Test

So like you may have just heard, I actually feel that the Soundcore Select 4 Go has better instrument separation, better clarity and better bass than the JBL Go 4. I also feel that the Select 4 Go does a much better job of controlling the highs, cause the JBL Go 4 sounds a little tinny by comparison. And when it comes to max volume performance, the Select 4 Go gets a little louder as well. Now just keep in mind that this a 5 watt speaker, but at max volume this speaker is great to use while in the shower or its good if you’re riding your bike. Just keep in mind that at those higher volumes, this speaker is going to drain its battery life faster.

But finally let’s talk about pairing this speaker up to other speakers. With the Soundcore Select 4 Go, if you have another Select 4 Go than you can wirelessly pair them up and get them to play in left and right stereo mode. So your music is going to get louder and its going to sound more open cause you’re going to have one speaker for your left channel and another for your right channel.

But with all of that being said, the Soundcore Select 4 Go is a great affordable speaker that gets impressively loud for its size and it does a great job of keeping clarity at max volume. If you use this speaker at 50% volume its going to last you up to 20 hours, so its going to have not problem keeping up with you, and thanks to its small size and durable body you can easily take it on the go with you. And if you have 2 of the same speakers you can pair them up and get them yo play in left and right stereo mode. Overall the Soundcore Select 4 Go is a solid pick up that you cant go wrong with.
