So last year Sony released their XG500 which was their first large portable Bluetooth speaker and response to the JBL Boombox… and they also gave us a sneak peak of their new design language. But now in the summer of 2022, sony has released the rest of their lineup, the XG300, XE300, and XE200. So today, we’re going to break down Sony’s speaker lineup for 2022.
So the JBL Flip 6 is a very impressive small portable Bluetooth speaker. Its packing a woofer, transducer and dual passive radiator set up, which is rare for a speaker like this. Also, it has a customizable EQ and JBL’s Partyboost. Overall you can’t go wrong with the JBL Flip 6 is you’re looking for a small speaker. But then there’s the Sony XE200 which is almost as big as a mid sized speaker. If you’re trying to choose between the JBL Flip 6 and Sony XE200, lets see which one is right for you.
So this is the new Sony XE200… and unfortunately the XE200 has gotten the same treatment as the XE300… overall, I see it as a downgrade from its predecessor, the XB23… and for a small portable bluetooth speaker… the XE200 is pretty big.
