I really like the new Sony XB33 cause the new Sony XB33 sounds significantly better than its predecessor the Sony XB32. Specifically, the XB33 has much better instrument separation and a much wider soundstage. But naturally people want to know how the XB33 stacks up to the JBL Charge 4 and the JBL Pulse 4. And ultimately each of these speakers out perform every one of these other speakers in one specific category. So depending on your needs one is going to be better than the other.

Out of Sony’s new portable bluetooth speaker line up for 2020, I think the new XB33 has gotten the all around best upgrade. I like that the XB33 has gone back to an XB31 design aesthetic which makes it much more durable than the XB32, the XB33 sounds way better than the XB32, and unlike the XB43… the XB33 gets decently loud for both its size and price.

Even though the new Sony XB43 has some really meaningful upgrades like an all new speaker set up which genuinely does sound better and it now has USB C charging which does make life a little easier.
